IKEA PS COLLECTION 2014 – Available in IKEA stores in UK and Ireland from 1st April 2014

Today, for the first time ever, more people live in cities than in the countryside. They move more often and live in smaller spaces. But they still dream of a beautiful, functional home that perfectly fits their lives. And perhaps most importantly, they have less money to spend. These global insights have inspired the IKEA PS 2014 collection. “We’ve chosen to devise a series of products that offer cutting-edge design that remains affordable.”, says Peter Klinkert, Project Manager for the IKEA® PS Collections.

The IKEA PS 2014 collection responds to the way young people live by focusing on design that you can move around and use in different ways. And to truly make the collection globally relevant it was essential that the creative team included designers from every corner of the globe. Fourteen designers were chosen – they then worked with IKEA’s own in-house designers to bring IKEA PS 2014 to life.

The IKEA PS 2014 collection is all about living here-and-now. Mobile and multi-functional, it’s here to help you make the most of life at home. No matter if that home is somewhere you’re just crashing for a while or somewhere you’ll stay put.

Here you won’t find big items like beds or sofas (OK, we do have a wardrobe, but it’s a very special one) Just movable, well-designed items that help you adapt your space to the way you live – even if that space is on the small side.

And at a price you can afford. Because we believe everyone is entitled to great design.

They have created an ‘Instagram Catalogue Website’ for their latest range of products; IKEA PS 2014 (a 34 piece designer collection). And with over 15,000 followers in just a few days, it’s taking off! Here’s how it works…

They’ve created an Instagram account that functions and pretty much looks like a website, using the tagging feature to cross link in other specific instagram products to build out microsites for those individual pieces, while having users generate their own by taking pics and tagging them with the product’s Instagram name… Check it out here! So far there are 15,000+ people following the Collection on Instagram. Pretty cool. Created by the guys at Instinct, Moscow.
